Progress.

We can't believe how fast our home is being built. It has gone up before our eyes. It's nice living so close because we are able to go see it every day! These are the changes that have happened over the last 4 weeks.

Ethan got his first REAL haircut a few weeks ago. He surprised us all and sat still the entire time.

Shopping.

My sweet little Ethan... why is it when we go grocery shopping, you aren't so sweet? We have tried suckers, ice cream cones, free cookies from the bakery and even a balloon. But nothing seems to work. You want to be mom's big helper and walk up and down the aisles getting food off the shelf. I must say it is helpful (sometimes) , but other times we make a bit of a mess. Then I get flustered and you start crying and screaming and crying some more. So, as much as I love your help and your company I don't know if we will be having any more shopping trips together in the near future!!! Oh how I LOVE you!!!

Apple.

Sour apple anyone?

The hole.

When we came back from St. George, we had a pleasant surprise. The hole for our new home was dug. It was a suprise because we were told it would be a few more days, but they went ahead a dug it sooner then planned. We are exited and can't wait to the progress in the weeks to come!

Catching up.

Ethan, Grandma Bennion and I were able to go have some fun in the St. George sun! We went the week after Mother's day and stayed for 5 days. It was a much needed break and we loved spending time with Laura and her family and we also got to play with the Carroll cousins. We spent a few nights at the park and playing in the water. It was hot and the water was a great way to cool off. We did a little shopping and lots of relaxing. Ethan loved playing with his cousins and we can't wait to go back !!! Thanks Laura for your great meals and for taking good care of us!!

Working.

Ethan loves to do anything that Brace is doing and loves to help. We got 2 loads of dirt and Ethan was out helping Brace shovel and put it in the wheelbarrow. He didn't miss a beat and was alongside Brace every step of the way. After working hard in the dirt it was time to clean the wheelbarrow out and play in the water.

Then at the beginning of May , let the building begin. We drove around our new neighborhood the other day and met some of our new neighbors..... they said it was a great neighborhood. We are excited!

Dirt

On Sunday morning we had french toast for breakfast. Both Brace and I asked Ethan what he would like on his. I asked " would you like syrup" and Ethan shook his head no. So I asked "would you like jam" , he shook his head no. Then I asked if he would like whipped cream and again he shook his head no. I couldn't think of anything else to put on french toast, so I jokingly asked "would you like dirt on your french toast". And that was it, he shook his head yes, that was exactly what he wanted!

*I don't know if Ethan knew what he was shaking yes and no to......but it was still so cute*

Ethan's 2 favorite things

Ethan has a little obsession with the vacuum, we get it out everyday. And sometimes it is out all day long. He will play with the hose and cord and will try to vacuum. He can't get enough!!!

He also loves to play with lids and try to get them open and closed with his teeth!! It is pretty fun to watch him.

My LITTLE Love

Ethan is growing by leaps and bounds, it is amazing to see even the small day to day accomplishments he makes. I am truely amazed, he is such a little person doing big things.

Today has been one of those days I have wondered if the things I do as a mom are enough. Enough for him to grow into the responsible, smart, kind, caring person I would like him to be. And as I sat back and watched him play today I feel ok knowing I am doing what I can and Ethan will be just fine. He is so funny and so dang cute. Since this is used for journaling purposes I have to list the things I love about my little guy.

Ethan I love the way you....

1. Jabber. You love to talk and when you do it is in a very unique way. I don't know how you do it, but you talk and roll your tongue at the same time and because it is so cute I could listen to it all day and it makes me laugh.

2. Run/Walk. You are a great walker and getting very fast. The last week or so you have started to bop and walk, as if you can't walk fast enough and you are trying to run. You also get your head going and you bop if back and forth. It is so dang cute!!!

3. You are so good-natured. Your tempermant is very tender and you rarely get upset. It takes alot to get you mad. You smile and laugh a lot. And might I add your smile and laugh are so cute.

4. You love to read/look at books. You will sit on the floor and flip through books or hop in your chair and look at them.

5. You LOVE the vacuum(s). We have gotton them out everyday for the last 2 weeks. You love to play with the chords and pretend to vaccum.

6. Your hair. Since you have turned 1 your hair has come in more and has gotton thicker. But the last month it has started to curl and get some texture. It looks so cute next to your adorable face . It is still straight on top but in the back and on the side... it curls!!

Ethan I love you... every little thing about you. You are a special spirit and have brought so much joy and happiness into our lives.

In Your Face

So on Sunday after Sacrament meeting there was a boy sitting on the couch in the foyer. Ethan wanted to get on the couch and "jump" alittle. I know.. I know, it's church. So I only let him do it for a minute or 2. Then he noticed this boy -maybe 10 or 11- and went over to him. Ethan sat down right next to him and started jabbering. I told the boy "can he just sit by you for a minute and talk... he really likes people". The boy was nice enough and just sat there while Ethan visited with him. Well Ethan stands up and put his little face right up to this boys face and just starting jabbering even more. And then proceeded to touch and poke his face. No problem, right!!! Well until Ethan went for his nose, 2 little fingers pointed and ready to go straight up his nose. So I decided they had visited long enough and wisked Ethan of the couch. I guess we need to not let Ethan put his fingers up our nose!! Oh and the Sunday before, Ethan threw-up during Sacrament meeting. All over me, himself and the pew.

I'm in!!!

It's a new year and so I have been thinking about a new way to document the little happenings of our family's day to day life. Scrapbooking and journaling have proven to be unsuccessful.I have resorted to just writing on our calender on a weekly basis the significants of our precious little boy. So I'm up for something new and different... blogging!!! Besides I'm much faster at typing. Here goes everything!!!
